SUPER TEAM : The Fast Track
With neuroscience and job scultping.
We were so excited to bring this extraordinary workshop and profile to our clients in 2022.
Hiring good people is tough, but keeping them can be even tougher, as every senior executive knows. Everyone has a story of hiring a talented person who adds value, and then they unexpectedly move on to greener pastures in a couple of years. Usually, such exits are put down to “She got an offer she couldn’t refuse,” or “No one stays with one company for very long these days.”
Often it may be quite another dynamic altogether, that talented professionals can leave due to senior managers assuming that people who excel at their work are happy in their jobs. Sounds logical enough, however strong skills don’t always reflect or lead to job satisfaction. Many professionals have developed skills, but they have natural preferences that are not being utilised. At times, well educated and achievement-oriented people may excel in varied areas of a business.
In this workshop -participants have the opportunity to:
- Have a 1:1 PRISM Brain Mapping Debrief with a Certified Brain Mapping Practitioner
PRISM Brain Mapping is an inspirational tool that takes advantage of some of the most up-to-date neuroscience discoveries to provide users with a series of ‘maps’ representing how their brain prefers to work. It is a unique way of identifying people’s behaviour preferences based on brain activity.
Unlike traditional psychometric instruments, PRISM approaches human behaviour from the perspective of neuroscience rather than psychological theory. The report also indicates where individuals may be overdoing or not making full use of their preferences.
Participants have a 90 min debrief which can be in person or by zoom, depending on location.
- Through a positive discussion, the leader or team member is invited to share where they are well aligned and where opportunities to further contribute are in their profile and potential over use areas in their profile that are de- energising.
- After all team members have completed their individual debriefs – the collective team profile is shared at a team workshop.
- Then the fun can start – JOB Sculpting!
- Each participant has the opportunity to put something that is part of their role ‘ on the table ‘ for perhaps another person to undertake. It may be for an agreed period of time or a permanent swap.
- The next opportunity is to look at a team stretch goal or project in the next 90 days. Using their profiles, they decide areas to focus on.
- We use the Six Thinking Hats to workshop how to bring the idea to life.
We know that a multiskilled team can cope better when a team member takes holidays or extended absence. This also enables the team member to instigate their own growth path and the opportunity to collaborate on an innovation goal. Using the six hats framework, they also learn a thinking system using the wisdom of Edward de Bono and parallel thinking.
Trends in Job Sculpting
Job sculpting is becoming more and more popular as an external recruiting tool for companies. Companies are advertising their job sculpting or career development programs to new graduates as a selling tool. The theory behind this is that because so many graduates are well educated and achievement-driven, offering attractive compensation packages will not be enough to retain them. Many new graduates find the idea of job sculpting attractive because it allows them to explore avenues outside of what they have been “trained” to do.
Job sculpting usually combines the person’s life interests, abilities and values, and we now are building in neuroscience.

PRISM Brain Mapping Profile
The brain is the source of all human behaviour. It stores our memories, enables us to feel emotions, gives us our personalities and produces the behaviours that enable us to survive and achieve success – in short, it makes us who we are.
Although genes set boundaries for human behaviour, there is immense room for individual variation within these boundaries.
Thanks to great advances in brain imaging technology, scientists can watch the brain at work in great detail and uncover many of its secrets.
For all of us, that discovery is excellent news. The adult brain can and does adapt, develop and change even into old age. This means that education, learning and development take on a whole new level of importance.
Download the Prism Brain Mapping Brochure to discover how you can better understand how to use Neuroscience has also shown us that people tend to be most motivated and successful when they use and are rewarded for using their own natural, preferred behaviour.
This highlights the importance of matching people with the right jobs – doing those things they enjoy and do best.
In simple terms, the better the fit between the person and the job, the better the performance.
