Strengths At Work The Path to Engagement

This groundbreaking training transforms a participants performance.

This is a one-day workshop designed to help you gain a deeper understanding into how character strengths can play a key role in improving employee engagement. You will learn principles that are grounded in scientific research and have been shown to help employees find greater satisfaction in their work, enhance the company culture, and increase employee productivity.

Research shows that employees who used four or more of their top character strengths at work had more positive work experiences and are more likely to experience their work “as a calling” than those employees who used less than four. Engaged employees are involved, enthusiastic and further their organization’s interests.

This workshop uses the AAA (Aware-Align-Appreciate) Model as a framework to guide you through practical strategies on how employees can come to know their unique character strengths and use those strengths to make better progress on their goals and find greater fulfillment at work.

About The VIA® Institute on Character:
The VIA Institute on Character was established in 2001. It was established to advance both the science and practice of character. It’s at the heart of a global movement in the focus on positive flourishing. A focus on Strengths is underpinned by the belief that greater potential lies in focusing on what is right about people rather than what is wrong. The VIA Character Strengths Profiling has already been completed by over 2.6 million people in 193 countries and 18 languages. The VIA Institute has helped educators, practitioners, academics, managers, other professionals, and the general public incorporates strengths into their lives and their work in record numbers. The identification of the 24 Character Strength has been acknowledged as the most important development in the field of ‘the science that deals with emotional and mental processes’ in the past half-century.

Staff Engagement
According to Gallup’s report on the State of the Global Workplace: Employee Engagement Insights for Business Leaders Worldwide;

  • 24 percent of Australian adults who work for an employer are engaged.
  • 60 percent are not engaged.
  • 16 percent are actively disengaged.

    Research clearly defines the impact as a loss of productivity, wellbeing and flow onto customer satisfaction. Studies further reveal that only two out of every ten people have the chance to do what they do best at work.

    The question for many organisations is how to engage their staff and reclaim the wasted potential in their people and organisations.

The answer is in focusing on strengths. Utilising the VIA Survey participants learn how to apply their strengths at work and in everyday life.

Research now points us to the importance of improving levels of engagement.
Statistics show that:

  • Companies with high engagement had 2.6 times higher earnings-per-share growth rate vs. low engagement companies in the same industry.
  • Engagement leads to better performance: 300% to 400% improvement in productivity indicators.
